This Privacy Policy describes how Personal Life handles information when the app is used.
Personal Life is made for children, so a parent or guardian must read and accept this policy and the Terms of Use the first time the game is opened. Without that acceptance the game does not start.
Personal Life is a 3D pretend-play game for children. The player creates a character, decorates a house, explores a town, shops, cooks, gardens and takes care of a pet.
There is no score and no way to lose. The game works without an internet connection.
We consider this the most important section of this policy:
Almost everything the game remembers stays on the device itself, in the app's private storage, and is never sent anywhere: the character's nickname and appearance, the house layout and colours, coins, bag and achievements, hunger, sleep and the in-game clock, the garden and the pet, pictures taken with the in-game camera, and settings such as language and joystick size.
The in-game camera photographs the game scene only; it never uses the device camera. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in the device settings, erases all of it permanently.
The game has an optional online mode that lets a child play with friends the family already knows. It only starts working when a friend code is exchanged, which happens outside the game, between adults.
When online play is used, the following information is stored on our server so friends can see each other:
The nickname is chosen freely by the player, so we ask parents to pick a nickname that is not the child's full real name. Nothing else identifies the child, and there is no way for a stranger without the friend code to find, contact or message a player. This information is stored by Supabase, our hosting provider, on servers located in Brazil.
Personal Life may display advertisements to help keep the game free. Because the game is made for children, advertising here is handled differently from a regular app: ads are requested only from advertising services certified for family apps, such as Google AdMob; every request is marked as child-directed, so the network may serve only ads rated as appropriate for the player's age; ads are contextual, never personalised, so the device's advertising identifier is not used to profile the child or to target ads based on interests or past behaviour; and no ad asks for personal information or leads to a purchase inside the game.
To show and count an ad, the advertising service receives technical information such as the device model, the operating system version, the language, the country and a limited identifier used to measure ad performance and prevent fraud. We do not receive or store that information ourselves, and we recommend reviewing the privacy policy of the advertising service for more detail. If the version of the game installed shows no advertisements, none of the above happens.
Personal Life is designed for children and follows privacy and safety practices appropriate for younger audiences. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.
If a parent or guardian believes that a child has typed personal information into the game, please contact us at the address below and we will remove it.
To erase everything stored on the device, uninstall the app or clear its data in the device settings.
To erase an online account and everything linked to it (friend code, nickname, appearance, house, friend list and transfers), write to us at the address below from an adult's e-mail. We do not need any personal information to do it, and we complete the deletion within 30 days.
The app can download small updates by itself, using Shorebird. To check whether an update exists, the app sends the app version and basic device platform information. No account or personal information is sent. The app is distributed through Google Play, which applies its own privacy policy to the download itself.
We take reasonable measures to protect the information above and keep the app secure. Rules that must not be bypassed, such as who is a friend and how many coins may be sent per day, are enforced on the server rather than in the app. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The game has no embedded browser and no links a child can wander into: the only links we put there are the ones on the parental consent screen, which point to this policy and to the Terms of Use. An advertisement, however, is content from someone else — tapping one may open the advertiser's page in the device browser or in the app store, and from that point on we are not responsible for the content, the security practices or the privacy policies of that destination.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any update will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and a significant change asks an adult to accept it again inside the game.
Questions, requests or concerns about privacy can be sent to tcariuska@gmail.com.
By accessing and using the Personal Life app, you agree to comply with these Terms of Use and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use the application.
The content, characters, artwork, design and materials available in the app are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
Personal Life is a game made for children. A parent or legal guardian must read and accept these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy above the first time the app is opened; until that happens, the game does not start.
By accepting, the adult confirms being the parent or legal guardian of the child who will play, and agrees to these terms on the child's behalf. Parents or guardians are encouraged to supervise children's use of the app, and are responsible for the device, its settings and the friend codes shared with other families.
Personal Life grants users a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use the application for personal and non-commercial purposes only.
Users may not:
This license may be terminated automatically if these terms are violated.
The app includes an optional online mode in which a player can visit friends' houses, see friends who are in the same place, send preset emoji reactions and transfer in-game coins. Online play works only between players who have exchanged a six-character friend code, which is private and meant to be exchanged between adults, outside the game. There is no text chat and no way to search for a player by name.
Coins, items and everything else inside the game are fictional, have no monetary value, cannot be bought with real money and cannot be exchanged for money or goods. We may suspend an online account that is used to disturb other players or to attempt to bypass the game's rules.
Personal Life provides pretend-play and entertainment content intended for children and families. There is no score, no time limit and no way to lose.
Nicknames and pictures taken with the in-game camera are created by the players themselves. Although we work to keep everything in the app safe and appropriate for children, we do not guarantee that content created by players will always be free from inappropriate choices.
Personal Life and its developers shall not be held responsible for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from:
Use of the application is at the user's own responsibility.
The content available in Personal Life may occasionally contain typographical, technical or visual inaccuracies. We may update, remove or modify game features, items or places at any time without prior notice.
The app does not offer in-app purchases, and nothing inside the game can be bought with real money. It may display advertisements to help keep the game free: ads come only from advertising services certified for family apps, every request is marked as child-directed so that only ads rated appropriate for the player's age may be served, and ads are contextual rather than personalised — no advertising profile is built from a child's activity. The Privacy Policy above describes this in detail.
Advertisements are created by third parties, not by us. We choose the network and the age filter, but we do not write, review or endorse each individual ad, and an ad may open the advertiser's page in the device browser or in the app store.
The app relies on a small number of third-party services to work: Google Play for distribution, an advertising network, Supabase for online play and Shorebird for app updates. Personal Life is not responsible for the content, policies or practices of these third-party services.
The parental consent screen links to these Terms of Use and to the Privacy Policy, both hosted on this website. Apart from those and from advertisements, the game contains no external links and no embedded browser.
Personal Life may revise these Terms of Use at any time. Any update will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and a significant change asks an adult to accept it again inside the game. By continuing to use the application after updates, you agree to the revised terms.
These terms shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, without prejudice to the consumer protection rights granted by the laws of the user's country of residence.
Questions about these terms can be sent to tcariuska@gmail.com.
